It has become a bit of a tradition so to speak for the kiddos and I to head to a local water park on the weekends with whatever family happens to be in town. This weekend, it was Gram who was able to meet us. The weather was perfect, and we had a great time.

My girl was actually too tall to ride this particular water slide, but she took her role as big sister very seriously and would carry the tube for her little brother to the top of the slide, get him started, then go down to meet him at the bottom to get his tube and start over. There might have been a few times where she unceremoniously dumped him into the water in her commitment to getting a hold of the tube, but the way I figure, that's just the price the little man had to pay to get the free ride.

And the little man didn't seem to hold a few near drownings against her.

There was a bit more sliding, and some near drownings for all of us in the giant wave pool. Gram and I can't figure out how to face those giant waves. Some we seem to handle better than others, and we just can't seem to pinpoint what it is we are doing wrong on the ones that seem to drag us for ages as we struggle to keep our bathing suits covering what they are meant to cover. Any tips? Other than don't go into the giant wave pool, of course, because that would break my girl's heart. She loves it.
Another thing my girl loves about our trips to the water park is snack time. It doesn't matter that I have just fed them lunch, the mystery of what the little green cooler holds is often too much for her to bear, and she is often willing to spend time lounging by the chairs if it affords her the opportunity to investigate what snacks have been brought for the day.
And the little man? He's a fan of the snacks, but he's a bigger fan of the sand. So funny, the difference between the two of them. My girl tries to make sure she avoids getting sandy, while the little man just dives right in. Literally, dives right in. I don't even want to hazard a guess as to how much sand we have transported from the water park to our house in the little man's pants. And his new Spiderman dive sticks? Apparently, they choose to dive in the sand as well.
We hope you had a good Saturday too, but maybe just without the sand in your pants.
