Sleepy Sundays

We went to the water park today, and we're all sleepy. There is not photographic proof, but you'll just have to take my word for it :)

Sleepy Sundays

Did anyone else forget last night was Daylight savings time? Cause we did. Well, the kiddos didn't, cause they don't even know about daylight savings time, but you know what I mean.

Sleepy Sundays

Today was my girl's "It's Almost My Birthday" party. She spent the day at the happiest place on Earth with 2 of her best friends. Luckily for me, her dad volunteered to chaperone; actually wanted the job. Sucker. By the look of him when he dropped her off tonight, I'd say he won't volunteer for that job again without some serious recovery time. I think they almost killed him.

As for the little man, mom and I undertook the challenge of distracting him from the fact that he wasn't allowed at the girls only "It's Almost My Birthday" party by completely wearing him out. I think we did a pretty good job, but I might want to rethink my strategy for future years. I'm sure he will be fine after a good night's sleep, but I think my feet will be sore for days.

Sleepy Sundays

Tonight as I was lying in bed reading, I was startled by something looming in my bedroom doorway. Okay, maybe not so much looming, but I'm trying to convey a dramatic sense of mood. Are you feeling the drama? Okay, I'll continue. It was the little man, swaying a bit in the doorway. I asked if he was okay. No response, but he walked into the room. I thought he was coming to ask me if he could sleep in my bed. Instead, he staggered over to my desk, pulled out the chair and sat down. Huh? I got out of bed and walked over to find him sleeping at my desk. Looks like we have another sleepwalker in the family. Of course I turned on the lights to take a picture. Didn't even faze him. Chelle, this one is your fault, too.

I got the little man settled back into his bed, and figured while I had my camera out, I might as well go check on my girl. This is what I found.

And honestly, I promise I didn't stage that pose, and she really is completely asleep. These kids are weird. I don't know where they get it from. I mean, I am so totally normal.

Sleepy Sundays

It's cold. I slept with my scarf on last night. My fingers are numb. Babies are sleeping. How do they stay so warm?

I'm going to bed, too. I'm not tired. But I want to be under the blankets. And, yes, I am wearing my scarf again.

Sleepy Sundays

It is officially cold here in Central Florida. You might be wondering how my normal sunshine kids are handling the cold. My girl? Doesn't bother her a bit. It's like she has her own little internal furnace. She don't need no stinkin' warm weather.

The little man? Well, when he comes out from underneath his gigantinormous pile of blankets, I will ask him.

Sleepy Sundays

We are ti-red today. So tired, I didn't even manage to get a picture of the sleeping kiddos. You'll just have to take my word for it. They are sleeping, and they are cute.

Spent the weekend with the fam at the beach and had a wonderful time. But we are done for today. When we got home, I was working on a few things at my desk and the kiddos asked if they could crawl into my bed and watch some tv. I put on Spongebob, and within minutes, they were both out like little lights. The little man woke up on his own about 45 minutes later and asked if he could go play. After 1.5 hours, I figured I had better wake my girl up or she would never sleep tonight. When woken up from a nap, she is kind of bitter and very much confused and out of it. Yep, that girl is definitely mine.

Sleepy Sunday Plus

As I'm gearing up for another hectic Christmas season, wanting the kiddos to have a great Christmas and wondering how I'm going to pull it off given the current economic state of our little family, it seemed as though the message today at church was specifically meant for me. It focused on defining what is really important to your family and cultivating those things. As I was in the beginning stages of the pre-Christmas shopping frenzy, I needed this video.

I want so badly to give these little ones something wonderful. And it's not about money, or things, or stuff. I am grateful for today's reminder of this.
